He will not at all acquit the Wicked: he will by no means clear the Guilty. He will not be flack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his Face. b If thou feeft the Oppreflion of the Poor, and violent perverting of Judgment and Justice in a Nation, marvel not at the matter, for he that is higher than the highest regardeth, and there be higher than they. The Soul that finneth it fhall dye. The Son fhall not bear the Iniquity of the Father, neither fhall the Father bear the Iniquity of the Son. The Righteoufnefs of the Righteous fhall be upon him, and the Wickedness of the Wicked fhall be upon him. ་་་ d The Servant which knew his Lord's Will, and did not according to it, fhall be beaten with many Stripes; but he that knew it not, and did things worthy of Stripes, fhall be beaten with few Stripes. For unto whomfoever much is given, of him shall much be required. e It shall be more tolerable in the Day of Judg ment for fome, than for others; and they that have been more corrupted in all their ways than others fhall receive greater Damnation. f What fhall we fay then? Is God unrighteous that taketh Vengeance:? God forbid; For then how fhall God judge the World? Surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty: pervert Judgment. Nah. 1. 3. Let God be True, but every Man a Lyar. g If we believe not, yet, he abideth Faithful; he cannot deny himself. It is impoffible for God to Lye. h Hath he faid, and fhall he not do it? Or, hath he spoken, and fhall he not make it good? I have spoken it, (faith the Lord,) I will alfo bring it to país; I have purpofed it, I will alfo do it: I will not repent; neither will I turn back from it. His HOLINESS. The Lord our God is Holy. Thou only, O Lord, art Holy. f There is none Holy as the Lord. Who is like unto thee, O Lord, glorious in Holiness? 8 Behold, he putteth no Truft in his Saints; yea the Heavens are not clean in his Sight., h Far be it from God, that he should do Wickedness, and from the Almighty, that he should commit Iniquity. God cannot be tempted with Evil, neither tempteth he any Man. i Why fay ye, every one that doth Evil is good in the fight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them? He is not a God, that hath Pleafure in Wickedness, neither fhall Evil dwell with him. He is of purer Eyes, than to behold Evil; and cannot look on Iniquity; the foolish fhall not ftand in his fight, he hateth all workers of Iniquity. The Way of the Wicked, the Thoughts of the Wicked, the Sacrifice and Prayer of the Wicked are an Abomination to the Lord. a The Righteous Lord loveth Righteousness; His Countenance doth behold the Upright. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him: But to all those that work Wickedness, he faith, Depart from me, I know you not. b Surely, God will not hear Vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it: but the Prayer of the Upright is his Delight. GOD is INCOMPREHENSIBLE. e Behold, God is Great, and we know him not; touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out. His Greatness is unfearchable. d Can we, by Searching, find out God? can we find out the Almighty unto Perfection? Such Knowledge is too wonderful for us: It is high, we cannot attain unto it. And when we talk of him, we cannot order our Speech, by reafon of Darkness. e What Man knoweth the things of a Man, fave the Spirit of a Man, which is in him? even fo the things of God knoweth no Man, but the Spirit of God. f Verily, O God, thou art a God that hideft thy felf: dwelling in the Light, which no Man can approach unto. Who can fhéw forth all his Praife? e Many, O Lord, are thy wonderful Works which thou hast done; they cannot be reckoned up, in order, unto thee: If we would declare, and speak of them, they are more than can be numbred. f God hath done great things, and unfearchable; marvellous things, paft finding out. Great things doth he, which we cannot comprehend. g No Man can find out the Work that God maketh, from the Beginning to the End: Tho' a Man labour to feek it out yet he shall not find it; yea tho' a Wife Man think to know it, yet fhall he not be able to find it.
